We had a brilliant morning at South Lake Leisure Centre for our annual swimming gala. With competitions being held in both pools, the was plenty of competition, winners and fun.
We had a record number of 12 pupils from P6 and P7 involved in our big event, the Maher Shield; four lengths of the pool using any mixture of strokes. A daunting challenge for most primary school children!
After a tight first length, it was Jack D in P6 who pulled ahead for a lead that he held on to, closely followed by Cillian in second and Daniel in third. Even more impressive was how all entrants completed the four lengths despite how tiring the event is.
